f-150 with 6inch lift
I am lookin at buyin a 92 or 93 f150 and if i get one im gonna put a 6inch lift on it. What is the best brand for a 6inch lift. Also with a six inch lift i will put 35 bfg muds on it and was wonderin if the stock gears will be able to push that size tires well enough to drive on the highway alot. Thanks

i would recommend a 6" superlift thats what i have on my 82....it was an easy install and fairly decently priced for the 6" now gear wise what type of power plant are we talking about 300/6 302 351 i base it off of hp myself so depending on the engine youll have thats when i would decide on gears

skyjacker is the best maker for your truck. I had a 93 f-150 and i did the install with one of my buddies (thanx chris ) which took us about half a day. They have the best hardware and all the braketry is very well thought out. Do a search...there are already a lot of posts about this same topic!

I have a 94 F150 with 35's on it. I have 4.56 gears and a 4" lift. The only reason the 4" is enough is the front bumper is not stock. I have the Warn winch bumper on the front. Other than that, it does fine. The engine that came in mine is the 5 liter. Also, on an "open" 8.8 rear-end in it may need a Detroit locker if you plan on adding any extra power to the engine or doing any seroius off-roading.

look at my above post, no fender trimming...when I switched to that bumper, that was the only clearance issue Ive had to deal with. You probably will have to make sure that whoever installs your lift puts the larger bumpstops in to keep the 35" tires from bottoming out in your fenderwells at full compression also.

I don't think 3.73s were offered, atleast I've never seen stock 3.73s. I have a 95 F-150 with 6" lift and 35" tires, open rear (soon to change) with ARB air locker in front and 4.10 gearing. I'd say go with 4.10 gears if you are getting a manual tranny or 4.56s with an auto tranny. A 4.30 gear with 35" tires is the same as 3.55s and 235/75/15s to give you an idea (but 4.30s are not avail.). I ran on 3.55s for about a month and it was terrible, it's driveable but...no power. I also highly recommend 6" lift. Most likely u'll want to go bigger if u put a 4" on. Some people report problems on the inner fender near the bottom when the wheel is turned a bit and the tire moves up in suspension travel, better be safe and have the 6" like me. I think it looks better anyway, and there really isn't much of a reason to go with 4" over 6" driveability wise, it's pretty close. Check out the gallery. I have stock pics...pics w/ 6" and 32" tires..and 35" tires.

yea, your right Mustang GT, they dident offer 3.73's on the F150's in 94 anyway. With the 351, 3.08, 3.55 and 4.10's were all used.
By the way, I have never had any issues with the 4" lift and rubbing on the inner fender. The lift is a Dick Cepek 4" lift . We travel off road on a reguar basis, haul off road, tow, etc without any scraping! Just thought I'd let you know. I would think the offset of the wheel would have alot to do with it also.
