Vent in my 4r100 trans

I made a big mistake and overfilled the tranny in my 1999 Superduty F250. There was fluid leaking from the rear corner of the trans on the driver's side. I thought it was the pan gasket, but it was coming from the top of the trans. Is there a vent in this area??? I redrained the trans, torque converter and cooler, but I only got 14qt back into the trans when the manuals call for 17.7 any ideas?

Thanks
Nathan

vent in trans

Yes, vents are on automatic tranmissions for safety. My C4 on 1979 F100 has one as I was quickly reminded. After recent filter service; I added ATF; manual says 11 quarts; says add 4.5 to start and slowly add rest while running. I added 5 at rest and it started to come right out through the vent. Hadn't messed up garage floor until then. At hot idle I was able to get in 8.5 quarts, not 11. So rest must be coating parts, in recesses, servos, and nooks and crannies.
