cost of a rebuilt or reman engine?

92 351. About how much would a rebuilt or reman engine run? I asked ford and they wanted 2k just for the engine no install. What kind of prices are reasonable for these engines and are remans or local rebuilds better?
Thanks

You should get a better response in the engine forum. You'll need more info... Do you need it installed? What type of rebuild are you looking for? I personally don't like crate engines because they are mass produced and you really don't know what your getting. Talk to some local shops in your area and let them know how you want your engine rebuilt and get some quotes. Ask for references. Good luck, Dan

I just ordered one for the 88-93 from engines direct in Phoenix for $904 plus $75 shipping. This was for a complete longblock with new oil pump and gaskets to swap everything over.

I bought a 4.9L long block from Jasper last month. almost 1700 dollars. It might go into the truck today.
Search for Jasper in the website and you'll see other comments about Jasper, and it's competitors. I have heard alot of good things about Jasper, if you have heard anything bad let me know.

You get what you pay for..... hopefully. Local is better because you have someone to yell at in person if things go wrong.
