Dumped=Louder?
I have an 83 stepside with a 3.8 V6. Stock cat, single in, flowmaster 40, dual out 2.25 pipes. I'm not happy with it-too quiet. dont get me wrong its nice and throaty but just not loud enough. If i dump it will I make it noticibly louder? i also wanna keep my cat for gay NJ insp. any ideas? thank you

Got a sound clip of my Bronco with flowmaster's and dumps in front of the axle if you want to hear it.

It's loud,but I usually alway's have the cap off.I have Delta flow Flowmaster's now,before I had the orginal one's.It's just as loud idleing now as it was before,the area where it is quieter is when your on it.But the fact that I went to mandrel bent exhaust made it sound louder anyway's.I added a new sound clip.

the dumped exhaust is always gunna be louder and deeper because the exhuast is exiting right after the muffler in most cases. i know mine went from a really mellow rumble to a noticeable rumble and a lot deeper...and i dont have to worry about crushin the tail pipes...IMO dumps or echo tips are the way to go.
