Intercooler Info Needed

I've got an Eaton M90 on my Explorer 302. Anyone know of an intercooler that could work with this setup? As of now, I'm only running a 6lb pulley, but the 8lb should arrive any day now.

There are only 2 supercharger kits made for Explorers, so I have been limited on getting any info on them. I've checked a couple of the Grand Am sites since they use the Eatons also, but am still not getting anywhere. Thought maybe some of the Lightning gurus might have an idea....

Thanks...

You can use a small shot of nitrous or a water and alcohol/methenol injection. The nitrous will yield more hp gains but the water and alky injection keeps the engine internals clean and the bottle is dirt cheap to refill. Both work well in lowering dishcharge temps.

Do you use the water injection the same as a nitrous - ie, a manual spray you control with a switch - or can it be setup to automatically done?

Do you have a link or know anyone to contact about it?

Thanks!

Yes, it is a mixture that is injected much like nitrous.
SMC makes an inexpensive kit here www.smcenterprises.com

Aquamist makes several kits as well but they're a little more expensive, you can find some here www.chargedperformance.com/
or do a search on Yahoo to find more.

MrRottnDog -

Are you running one on your ride? Have you seen any results from it?

How is the eaton setup? Is it sitting on top of your lower manifold, or does it go through a discharge tube to your throttle body? That makes a difference in the types of intercoolers you can use. If it's right on the manifold, there is the air-to-water route that can be sandwiched in there, but it may have to be a custom one. If there is a discharge tube, then you can use an air-to-air, and if you wanted a ford part, the Thunderbird Supercoupes used an m90/discharge tube/air-air setup that you could probably rip the intercooler off of.

I don't yet... But there's a guy posting on got-pressure.com that is having one installed. He's suppose to let me know how it works out.

I thought the T-Birds used the M62? I have not looked at their setup before. Mine is sitting on top of the lower intake.

RottnDog - How about let me know what his thoughts are when he gets it put on....

The setup for the supercoupe that I saw was an M90, but it was one of the last years made, so I dont know if that made a diff.

Yours is apparantly setup like the M90 on my Regal (other car), makes it harder to get an intercooler (limited options). Do you have a few pics of the bottom of your blower off? I just want to see if the bolt pattern looks similar to what I've got. If it is similar enough, there are a few aftercoolers for it.

I've got some pics in a box around here somewhere (just moved). I'll see if I can dig them out and get them scanned...

Cool. Only reason I was wondering is that it may be easier and cheaper to adapt one already developed for an M90 than to build one custom, plus you know they work.

look for an aftermarket intercooler for a regal GS or grand prix GTP.(they use M90s)
the engine is a 3800 supercharged or L67

look what I found http://www.3800performance.com/vehicles/regal_miva.htm

Agelder,
do you know about www.regalgs.org
