1001 uses for Zip Ties

Ok, we've all seen 1001 uses for Duct Tape, everything from covering rust holes in your truck to making the cat walk funny, and we know there are over 1001 uses for WD-40 (I believe Henry Ford would have used the stuff for hair spray). Now list all your uses for Zip Ties. I'll start,

Fix dishwasher rack
Key ring
Bicycle spoke clackers
Hold parking brake cable to frame until get repair part
Fasten kids bicycle name plates
Fasten hanging plant to awning support

Ok, the obvious first;
Tying wiring or cables together
Handcuffs (best left to the cops)
Securing loose objects (either permanently or temporarily, insert name of favorite loose objects here)

Not so obvious;
Dog choke collar (only works once per dog)
body piercings (remember rubber bands?)
hinges for a swinging door/gate
loops for hanging tools, fishing rods, etc out of the way in the garage

That's all I can think of right now, but 1001 uses is probably just scratching the surface.

Great for attaching tactical slings to the forends of Carbines.
depth stops on drill bits.
splints for sick trees.
Securing broken posthesis.
Adapting Truck seats to fit accurately on the frame of electric wheelchairs (done it, lasted for over a year no problem)
Balancing ceiling fans.
using as a pick to scrape bits out of the actions of pistols.
using as a rough and ready gun lock. (does keep tots safe)

Plus all of the obvious ones.. That is all i can think of in the few minutes I had spare, Maybe I can think of some more later.

Aside from all the obvious ones:

Practical Joke - Place a big ol' zip tie on the drive shaft of someone's car or truck. "Do you hear that noise??"

I can't add any unique uses to this board, but I will second the notion that they are most certainly on the list of fine products that will always adorn my garage!

Toothpicks

I've seem someone use them to hold the straps on their overalls

I doubt there is as many uses as the "handy mans secret weapon" duck tape.

-hold 2 piece fishing rods together
-Pant gaters....holds my jean pant legs down when I put on my chest waders
I have used duct tape for the gater part as well
-used to hold a flapper onto the exhaust of a friend's tractor....had to replace often
-Hand cuffed my niece just cuz she did not believe I would do it. She was stuck for about 30 seconds till the whining became unbearable
-makes our lawnmower keep running even when you let go of the bar
-ditto with the snow blower
That is all I can think of now....

I use one instead of a key for my trailer hitch pin, saves someone walking buy to steal it unless they have a knife, and its much cheaper then the lock.

I also use one to hold all my other ones together, ehh Hows the for impressive.
