Hard to Start

Ok folks, I've got a 98 F150 4.6 5speed. In using it everyday there is no problem starting. When I let it sit for two days in a row, it turns over fine, runs for a few seconds then stops. I do this about 8 to 10 times and it finally starts and runs fine the rest of the day. 120,000 miles. Someone suggested a fuel filter ???
Help !!! and have a great new year!!!!!

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? If you don't have any idea, then i would definetly replace it with a Motorcraft fuel filter. Stay away from Fram, i have had 2 that have leaked within a 12 month period from little pin holes.

You also might want to clean your throttle body, MAF sensor and your IAC. Check your vacuum hoses too. Maybe a tune-up is on the horizon for you.

Cool Hard to Start

hood...........thanks for the info. I already knew about the Fram filters. I had the same problem of leaking in 2 months on my old 91 F150. I'll do all of your suggestions ASAP and let everyone know how it worked. Happy New Year to ALL!!!!!
