Bassani Exhaust question

I'm getting ready to buy the bassani y pipe and cat back. I will add the headers later. I have read in a few posts referances to using the "Bronco flange" to make the installation easier. Is this something extra that you have to buy? I have not seen anything like this listed anywhere. The y pipe should fit to the stock manifolds with everything in the kit right? Also I want to be ready if the studs break. What size are they or what size bolt can I use to replace them? Thanks in advance

I think that flange that they are talking about is just some donut gaskets, but I cant be certain. I am running their headers to the Y pipe, so I didnt need anything (if they fit any better, you wouldnt be able to tell they were two units). If you order those flanges, yes everything *should* bolt up right.

I dont know how loud the headers alone made it. I added the headers, Y pipe, and catback all at once. I will tell you it has a great sounding exhaust note. Its a sleeper at idle, has a good tone around town, and can be a demon if you get her revving .

Loud is in the ear of the beholder. I only think its loud when you get into it, and when you are bombing down the highway at 75+. One thing to remember is that the bronco is no pickup truck. You are basically sitting on top of the muffler, so you will experience some interior resonance. I have been thinking of adding some of that matting that the audio guys use to keep their cars quiet on the inside (not that the resonance is unbearable, but the girlfriend wants the exhaust to basically be non-existent...and I wont budge on that). I will see if I can figure out how to make a sound file tonight, and hopefully grab a sample in the morning.

Ok, I have made two clips of the exhaust note. If you would like to hear/see them, please drop me an email. Geocities blocks pages that are listed in forums, and you will not be able to see anything if I do put it in this thread. My email contact through my profile should be in working order.

Yes, I have the complete Street Thunder system. I purchased it at www.proficientperformance.com . The Y pipe has 2.5" primary pipes, that dump into a single 3" pipe with a 3" high flow in/out catalytic convertor. The catback is also 3" mandrel bent.
