Will a 99 Engine fit in a 97 truck??

I'm buying a 97 F-350 Pstroke with a bad engine, will a 99 7.3 Pstroke fit with basic adaptations?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Same engine, diff. injectors and computer programming, turbo set-up may be different, too. I'd just do a hardware swap, then bolt all your old stuff back on, use your old injectors or get a custom chip to run the split shot injectors.

You will probably have firewall clearance issues if you use the turbo, pedestal and downpipe off the 99. Plus you will have to find a place for the charge air cooler.

I agree with Jim, easier to swap the 97 parts onto the 99 engine.

I would keep the split shot inj. They make more power, and better fuel econ, JMO. You will need to swap the IDM,CPU anyway. Use the torque conv. from the 99, 4R100 it is a better T/C then the OEM E4OD T/C in the 97. If you can get the 99 trans too. Modify the core support for the intercooler hoses. Firewall clearance will be a problem with the turbo & exhaust, it is a different turbo and mount compared to the 97. Whats wrong with the 97? Is it up for sale?

Only if they're stone stock. ALL the big power injectors are single shot.
