Upholstery repair

Had a pair of sharp scissors in my back pocket and when I got out of my truck they made a 1/4 inch gouge in the upholstery on my seat.(power seats too) how can I repair it? Happy holidays folks.

Cloth or leather? On cloth I would use needle and thread, try to match the color as best as possible . On leather stiching would look pretty bad. I've seen some leather repair kits but never tried it so don't know how well it would work.

With leather, you would need to take the cover off the seat and take it to an upholstrey shop where they can sew a new panel in the cover. I think you can do the same for cloth, but I haven't seen cloth f-150 seats.

Did you just cut into the material or did a whole section come out?
If it's just a cut you shouldn't need a patch, just stitch up the cut and go a little past the edges so it doesn't keep tearing.

You should be able to take the seat cover off, and sew a new panel in where the old one was cut. Just take the whole section out of the seat. An upholstrey shop might be able to get the correct fabric to sew in.
