"check" or "engine"

My '90 bronco has a "Check Engine" and a "Engine" light. Has anyone figured out the difference between the two?

"check engine light" usually you have a problem and a code is computer for a failing sensor. "engine light " usually indicates a serious problem, like charging system failure , overheating, etc.
