141,000 miles would quiet them down. 41,000 is not a whole lot of miles. jmo.

SMiller is new and has a neutral reputation at this point.
I know a girl that has one of the very first ones out and I due mean the first, she ordered a 7.3 and the dealer called her two weeks before it got there and said it had some new, bigger-better-faster engine and she said cool-whatever, this truck has 46000+ on it now, it has never had a re-flash, never been to the dealer, and runs super strong, even before the edge box, it was a real suprise when everone started getting them and all the re-flases and problems started. We have always joked that this was one of the first ones and that they must have put it together by hand. Unbelivible. She has always been very happy with the truck and has loved every mile of it, if only everone could tell that story. When she got this thing, no one belived it was the new 6.0, I bet 800+ people came from all over to drive it and check it out!!! It was as if it was the first diesel they had ever seen.

Peace Of Mind

I read so many negative comments that I fear that I have been swept into the abyss. I need to be bolstered up with the good comments and positive regard for the 6.O. I have an early April build 6.0 F250 Super Duty and I just purchased it in early December. It had been on the lot for 6 months. I got it for a very good price and decided to take a chance on the early 2003. With the warranty I hope it was a good decision. At times I regret the $30,000 gamble but life is too short to worry about these trivial things. I plan on enjoying this ride and worrying about problems when they arise. It was time to start living it up a little and take a chance. I sure like the way it drives and rides so far. I am on the original configuration (no flash) and it puts my butt back in the seat. Checking the oil at every fill and keeping my fingers crossed ( toes too).

I have a 12/15/02 build date. I have had all the flashes and will have the latest one next week. I had the rough idle following the first oil change and the flash fixed it. I have a wet spot on the bell housing and I can't remember an engine I have owned that didn't. If this turns out to be a problem it will be fixed by my dealer as will anything else that comes up. I have pulled a 9,600 pound trailer 3,500 miles of the 9,000 on the truck. Strong engine and good fuel mileage, although a little lower than pre-October flash. I am still smiling.

I had a front main seal oil leak just shortly after taking it off the lot. Currently have another oil leak as well that I will have fixed after Xmas. My absolute only complaint is that I expected a little better fuel economy. But all of that is minor because I love the truck. I still enjoy driving it as much as the day I took it off the lot. It pulls my 12,200# Weekend Warrior like a dream. The tranny is a technological marvel. I'm looking forward to the day when I can buy a second one for work.

Prarie Hill - I don't know if it is the same all over, but the dealerships around here reflash all of the applicable vehicles for sale currently on the lot and the ones waiting to get PDIed as the flashes become available. If this practice is common, there is a good chance that yours has been reflashed.

Reflash

Had the Oasis done and it has not been messed with. I guess I got lucky on that one. I only have 300 miles on the truck so I really don't know what I have yet. I am still putting on the fun stuff like nerf running bars, bug shield, mud flaps etc etc. Might do a Texas run over Christmas as we teachers get two weeks to mend the fried brain and nerves before school starts back up. South Padre island sand sounds pretty good to me. My parents winter in Harlingen so that would be a good test run for the Super Duty.
