I wouldn't consider a 390 dated in a 74-77 F250. I would consider putting the 390 in a show Truck like a F100 SWB. If its going to be a mudder/offroader etc, I would consider a 351W and possible stroke combinations. The 300 would be good in a F100 SWB also because you could build ti to "last" and the fuel efficiency would be something to consider.
