ticking noise

my 95 f150 4.9 5 speed truck has a ticking noise all the time, someone pinched the hose for the exhaust check valve and the noise seemed to stop until released, i am at my wits end with this noise, i dont want to throw another part at it if its not gona fix it. just wandering if anyone else had seen this problem. it has 116,000 miles highly maintained and never any other trouble with it. it doesnt seem to affect the power or running of it at all. thanks in advance for any help.

One noise that drove me crazy forever was my exaust manifold, it just needed to be tightened, if you have a 9/16 socket wrench, you might go and tighten the exaust manifold bolts.

You might want to be more specific, listen, where is it comming from, what kind of knock is it?
