Front bumper air dam?

I have noticed on my 86 that when I hit a puddle at any speed higher then 25mph the water sprays forward and up... then right back onto the windshield. Not good. Has anyone else had this problem? Was there ever a plastic air dam / deflector mounted under the bumper? The bumper is original and straight (Dented but overall straight) The tires are worn out bridgestone desert dualers (I think) and they are the stock size (235x75-15). I've looked at about 3 - 4 80-86 trucks and haven't seen anything below the bumper.

Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe a bug shield would fix that?

I've never seen anything below the bumper until the newer ones...

i know what you mean its nto as bad in jsut a puddly as in hte mud, you get into a puddle and your blind. im thinking alot of that water comes up over the fenders. maybe a set of fender flares could control some of it.

The 80-86 trucks had a small rubber deflector under the bumper(just between the framerails) it looks like a piece of 3/4" angle, only in rubber. I highly doubt it'd do any good for your problem, and, I haven't seen a truck with one in a very long time.

Looking at the newer trucks there is a full lenght deflector under the bumper. I was thinking about seeing how that would work.

I just put a used set of 32x11.50-15 BFG AT's on it. I want to see if that does anything... (I'm not holding my breath)

Dude,

I drive a 1986 F-250 HD and it happens every time. Not much you can do about it.

I have the stock bumper and run 33x12.50x16.5 Sport King (no name BFG) tires with full tread and it does it in EVERY puddle.
