I have a 1995 Ranger with a 2.3 liter and I am just wondering if it is a big deal to pull a 2.3 out of a later model ford car (taurus, tempo etc) and put it in the truck?
I would want to take the whole thing, computer, induction system etc.
I believe that they are different engines. The tempo 2.3 has chain driven timing. You would have to look at a Mustang 2.3 to swap.
As always, I stand to be corrected and willing to learn something new.
I'm pretty sure you can't take the engine from a front wheel drive car and try to make it work with a rear wheel drive vehicle. But I've never tried it before.
