Limited Slip Rebuild

I have noticed that the limited slip in my Ranger isn't very limited. I have the R6 axel code,-> 8.8" 3.73 limited slip rear end. I was considering getting a locker like the Powertrax No-Slip System, but when I found it on Summit for $430 I decided rebuilding my limited slip would be the better route for now. My question is this, Is the limited slip that I have the same thing as the Traction-Lock. Summit has a kit for $50 for the traction lock, and it seems like the way to go. I know that the LS in it is shot because when the rear axel is jacked up, with minimal effort, the wheels spin opposite each other, even in neutral. Also, is the rebuild something I can do at home with basic hand tools or would it be best to have someone who knows what they are doing do it. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I'm also hoping to rebuild my traction lock soon, 3.73 8.8 LS. 30k miles ago I couldn't spin one tire by itself on ANY surface, even dry pavement. Could easily spin both rear tires on dry roads. Now, I spin my inside tire on corners on wet roads (pathetic). I believe supperrangerman2002 rebuilt a traction lock on the Ranger he used to have. He actually bought a worn out trac-loc and bought a rebuilt kit for I think around $80 from the dealer. Either way, the process is the same. Used to be an article here, but they look like they're down for a couple of weeks. Try doing a search and see if superrangerman2002's post comes up. Good luck and let us know how it goes...
