SuperCrew Hold Status
I notice a lot of folks mentioning the 2004 F-250 or F-250 SuperCrews in this forum. Sometimes it's hard to tell wihich model they're referencing. This is a discussion forum for the 2004 F-150... .
According to my guy that orders our F-Series inventory (both F-150 and F-250/350), there are no holds in our region on the SuperCrews. There can be regional holds or allocation restrictions that affect availability. Keep in mind that the plants will shut down for the 2 week Christmas break on the 21st. That could be why some of you won't see the truck until January. When the Christmas break comes, there's nobody at Ford, let alone any other auto maker, that a dealer can contact or talk to regarding vehicle orders.
Also, traditionally (especially in the F-250/350 sized trucks), crew cabs don't get built in the numbers that regular and super cabs do. That is slowly changing with less emphasis on the regular cabs.
As I have mentioned in other posts, you can't judge your truck's delivery time by one bought from another dealer. Every dealer gets different allocations that are influenced by what they sell. A smaller dealer just won't have the ordering power a large dealer will have.
Carnivore:
Keep in mind that the dealer who had the truck you ended up with (not the dealer you were dealing with) is under no obligation to give up his/her inventory to another dealer. SuperCrews aren't out there in large numbers. That's why they are moving well. I remember back in 1996 when the 1997 F-150s came out that January. It was difficult to get an XLT SuperCab for the first few months. All you could get were Lariats and XLs. There were trim and component items that were in short supply limiting the number of XLT trimmed trucks that could be produced.
Based on the wording of your post....you handle fits. I see you're in Virginia. Who was your dealer?
Happy Holidays!

The local dealer that I deal with is small and they only have 25-30 new cars on the lot at one time, the majority of the ones there now are '04 F-150's. Last time I looked, I thought I saw about 6 CC Lariats, 3 CC XLT's, 5 Super Cab XLT's, 2 Super Cab Lariats, and 2 Regular Cab XLT's, and one Regular Cab XL, plus 3 Econolines and like 2 F-550 Cab and Chassis trucks and one F-250 Regular Cab 4x4 XL.

I was also told 6-8 weeks from order to delivery. Looks like maybe that was supposed to be 6-8 months????
This is a replacement for the 2001 SuperCrew that was totaled in a rollover. The wife should be able to drive and go back to work possibly in mid Feb. She is recovering from a broken neck.
Here's some pictures of the wreck. I really miss that truck!

I finally HAVE IT
Well right up to xmas the dealer kept telling me on hold and then waalaa on New Years I get a call and its there so as of 01/02/04 I've been driving the wheels off it. I have owned alot of trucks and SUV's is this is the most impressive one to date...quiet, fairly quick and most of all comfortable....I have nothing but praise for this truck and have been making excuses to the wife just so I can go out and drive it again (honey going to Home Depot, need to fix the faucet etc etc ) the side storage areas in the doors are hard to get to with the door closed but to me you shouldnt bereaching into those areas while you drive anyways......any my only suggestion to Ford is to either make a sealed compartment within the tailgate accessible by a small door when you fold the gate down or maybe one or two in the sidewalls of the bed...I have the subwoofer so there is no storage for buggie cords or blankets, small tools, flashlights etc.......on a scale of 1-10 in styling, ride and performance I give this truck a 9.9....of course nothing is a 10 if you have to pay for it...just my 2 cents and thanks to everyone who responded...GREAT FORUM !!!!

Thank you....Well it took 2 different Sales Managers to get what I think is the truth but basically they both eventually blamed the sales person and the 3rd Manager for not understanding the coding....I guess the code was tbd which they originally said meant the build date was "to be determined" when in fact it meant "to be delivered" so I dont know....it seems like they should have known this but as long as i have it now I dont care...lol...now its time to "ACCESSORIZE" !!!!....I need to find an exhaust, largest tires possible for the stock rims, air intake system and bed cover....just more dollars !!!
