Red face Fuel Gage

When the fuel light turns on how many more miles can you get out of your 4.2 before it it's really empty?

I typically get 60-70, but I get better milage than he does, but regardlesss I do not suggest driving any more than 40 miles after that. This motor, you have about 1/4-1/3 mile left after you start to feel a power loss from lack of fuel, unless of course you are headed down hill, so unless you are in the gas station parking lot, you may hafta walk (I have had it die in the parking lot aobut 15meters short of the pumps)

I believe there is a risk of overheating/damage to the fuel pump if you run empty.

Any fuel injected vehicle should never be run out of gas.

I only get 20 miles after my light comes on, however, i can't be sure of that because i've never ran it until dry.

I would think about 476.3 miles after the light comes on is a bit much, so I'd say about 20 - 30.

I fill my tank up until the pump stops, and then I give 'er one more shot 'til it stops. I can drive (with my conservative habits of course) about 450 miles before the licht comes on , I've only gone a total of 470-475 miles before filling up. Even then I was waiting to hear it cough and die. 'Busa01 is right, it's probably not a good idea to run out, it can't be good for it.
