i am new to the forum and am looking for someone who has knowledge of my problem my 2000 f-250 sd v-10 its tranny makes backlash and clanking sounds i have taken it to the dealer numerous times with no relief if anyone has any input i would appreciate it or if it has already been discussed point me in the right direction once again thanks alot :-X12

How many miles on it?
Did it just start doing it?
Can you give us a little better description of when this happens ?
letting clutch out ,from certain gears to other gears?
Is this grinding noise ,a clunk noise? or both?
What has the dealer been telling you when you take it in ?

We will have some ideas for you ,if you can give us some more info !

my truck is 4x4 it has 53000 miles on it it has been making the noise since it was new it makes it when going down hill any gear, if you accelerate it does it and the worse i have heard it is going downhill in 2nd and hitting bumps it is a clunking noise the dealer told me it is normal they all do it they told me it is a characteristic of the zf tranny thanks alot for any help
