Sounds like you better get your rad. core checked. It may flow enough coolant idling, but not at high rpm's. May be a sludge build up. Or you may also want to try replacing your thermostat. It too may not be allowing enough coolant. If those are not the problem--water pump.
fill the rad check hose when hot. sound to me like the rad cap is no good not presurizing the system or the hose just under it is cracked, replace if so
