Have had compression checked and co shows no problem. Engine still idles @ normal temp but runs hot on road. HELP!!!

 

Sounds like you better get your rad. core checked. It may flow enough coolant idling, but not at high rpm's. May be a sludge build up. Or you may also want to try replacing your thermostat. It too may not be allowing enough coolant. If those are not the problem--water pump.

 

Did you make a typo on the year of your truck, or did you post this in the wrong forum? I'm thinking more towards the first beacsue you have a 5.0.

fill the rad check hose when hot. sound to me like the rad cap is no good not presurizing the system or the hose just under it is cracked, replace if so
