Now what!!

Me again,
I was going through a big puddle when all of a sudden my Bronco shut down. No bogging just turned off. I tried to restart but all it would do is click. The power is all there but it just won't turn over???? Does anyone know what it might be? I seem to learn something new everyday, but it is always the HARD way!!

Thanks

Ben

Ben, Is the engine turning when you try to start it?
Is it getting fuel?

No, the engine is not turning. All I get is a click and all the lights in the cab go dim.

First, make sure the charging system isn't wet...try jump starting it. If the engine "locked" up you would have probably noticed.

Did you check the starter? If it is just clickin that would be my guess. I would pull the plugs and make sure there is no water in there. Then with the plugs out try to jump it again. If it is still clicking have someone else try and start it...get under the truck and gently hit the starter a few times with a hammer. If it starts you need a new starter. If it doesn't and you find the clicking is coming from the starter you probally need a new starter
Good Luck

Jump the solinoid switch and if the starter does the same thing it's probly your starter. Also, when your under there check all the conections, loose connections can cause all of this.

Well, I think I hydrolocked my engine My buddy took the starter out and made it go. He stuck it back in place and tried it but no luck! This sucks! I am going to pull the top off and check the rods and see if any of them are bent or if the piston is stuck. I just might have to drop 1500 for a new engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you ever just want to kick your self in the JUNK!

Pull the plugs before the heads! If there is any water in there it will be pushed out.

When the plugs are out, will the starter turn the engine over? If not, I think you're looking at the solenoid.

No, the starter will not turn the engine over. My buddy tried to crank the engine by hand but it wont move. Will the solenoid do this??
