What to do about Brakes?

Ok guys here we go! im ready to take my truck for a drive but no brakes work. The suspension is all stock but i have put in a 351c- c6 combo. How do you feel about stock drums and the conversion kits to disc? Power booster upgrades as well? Also what kinda cash is this about to cost me? i think the stock back brakes are ok to stay. they need rebuild as well. thanks and have a Happy Holiday to all!

I have a 390/C6 combo in my 57. I decided to leave the stock drums, and installed a 7" booster from MP Brakes. Best $390 I have ever spent. Someone pulled out in front of me today at a light, I stomped on the brakes, and came to a screeching halt! I am very pleased with the set-up! Just do yourself a favor, don't rebuild your wheel cylinders, just replace them; they only cost about $10 bucks a piece. Good luck!

Replace the steel brake lines that go to the back of the truck, if they look like they're the original lines. It's unpleasant when they spring a leak, because that only happens at the exact moment when you really really need the brakes.
