flashing check gage light

flashing check gage light
I have a 2002 manual supercab that has a flashing 'check gage' light. Seems to be sporadic and doesn't effect anything that I can tell. All of my gages read fine.
This happened once before, about 15,000 miles before I drove across the country and it quit on me, due to a faulty airflow sensor. A check engine light never came on. It's been 6,000 miles since it was replaced and it just started flashing again.
Any ideas on what is triggering it to flash? Are the two issues related or is the check gage light flashing for some other reason?

Hey Jimmy...saw you had posted something on this site. Thought I might get some help from someone on this site.
The check gauge light functions normally with regards to coming on with low fuel, high engine temp or low oil pressure. It's the random flashing that causes concern. It comes on for no apparent reason, for about a second. It did that for the full 15,000 miles, or so, before my cross country drive. Might blink twice in a minute, may only blink once a day. Doesn't seem to have any sort of connection to anything.
