Cool Oil drain plug

I have owned Ford trucks for 23 years and I have had that problem more than onece. Is the oil pan in good shape? My 89 F150 300 six 4x4 oil pan went last fall. Now as far as the oil plug go,es try backing off with preshire . Then then talk to somebody about an oversize plug for that I have used it for years and no problem your are better off to have a mech. work on it for you so if it fails you can blame him. Good luck and do not worry because it is a common problem.

If the oversized drain plug doesn't work, look into a piggy back plug(a small drain plug inside a larger one), but only as a last resort.

Drain

If I where you I would think about a used low mileage motor sounds like that one is getting tired. I only got a 140,000 miles on my 5.8 motors but I work the snot out of then with my work. You can find low mileage motors that came out of wrecks cheap Give that some thought if you did that you will save more money than rebuilding this one.

Cool Oil Pan

Some salvage wards will let you hear the motor 1st before you buy. It go like this buyer beware. I am sure you can find something good ware you live. Ask around I bet you can find a great motor for around a $1000.00 or less check it it wont cost anything to check into it. Good Luck
