I've put 209,000 on my '99 SD-250 7.3. I overhauled the tranny at 208,000. Didn't really need to. It turned out that my torque converter had begun coming apart and some of the junk from that was plugging the cooler bypass line. Oh well, I replaced everything inside it anyway and saved the old parts. The wife's '99 Explorer has 178,000 on it. I paid someone to rebuild that tranny at about 155,000 miles. Wish I had done it myself. It would have saved me at least $1,000. Live and learn. I love Ford trucks but I have to admit that there are a few good Chevies out there, too. You just won't catch me driving one during daylight hours. ;-)
