1967 Econoline Brakes

Someone i know has a 1967 Ford Econoline Van. It was the first year of the dual master cylinder. This van has 4 wheel drum brkes. He really wants it to stop better. Are there any aftermarket kits that allow one to fit a power booster on this van? What about bigger wheel cylinders? A bigger piston in the master cylinder itself?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

in a word, NO, the master cylinder is different than anything else. as far as wheel cylinders, you might be abel to install bigger bore cylinders, but with out a bigger bore master cyl. it aint gonna work. there must be a problem with the brakes, mine work real good. granted they wont stop on a dime from 100 mph, but they do a good job anyway. there are a couple of disc kits on the market, but a lot of people have had problems with the install.
wish i could be more help. you just have to remember, theses trucks are almost 40 years old and they are always going to be old.

Jim, Can you really get that shoe box style vehicle up to 100 mph?

I just saw your referrence to stopping on a dime from 100 mph, and just wondered out loud if you could make that box go that fast to find out.
