Chevron supreme 10W-30 It is

Thanks for all the replys. I'm going to use the 10W-30 but was thinking about the straight 30. Which would be better in my.

Also how many hours should I change th oil. I'll be installing a digital hourmeter.

Another one what about puting a pcv valve on one of the valve covers and dumping the air into the air hose. The reason is I get tired of having to to clean the filler breather. I would also close the filler with a cap. would this cause any problems.

I'd say the 10W-30 is the better bet.

As far as changing the oil goes, it's gonna depend a lot on how much you use it (are we still talking about the 9N?). I have several old pieces here that get changed once a year and are doing fine. If you use it a fair amount, I'd say somewhere around 50 hours would work out well.

Why not go with Chevron DELO 10w30 for it's extra zinc and phosphorus for added engine protection (particularly useful in low rpm high load operation)?

Yeah - Delo would work great also.

I'd say no to the PCV, but I can't really think of a good reason why not

I guess the Tractor is the topic ?

If so I'd use the Delo 30wt where you live and nix the PCV valve idea . Might could put a oiled foam prefiilter around the filler cap to help a bit. Various two stroke motorcycle carb type

Isn't the Delo 10/30 only available in bulk ?

can i order the 10W-30 because i cant get my hands on it just the 15-40 and straight weights I'll x the pcv valve. Maybe I'll use the straight 30 any reasons why not, during the winter it gets about the coldest 15 degres on a real unusual frost but rarly happens.

Chevron's website may have a "where to buy" page. Or call them and ask what the packaging is. I would think you could get it at a local truck stop or truck parts store.

Guess I'd go with 15W-40 before I went with the straight weight, especially if you're going to use it in cooler temperatures. That may be your best choice overall, IMO.

Look in the yellow pages under "oil/fuel/lubricants".There are commercial dealers who sell these products.Find one who sells Chevron products and you are set! My dad has a dozer/backhoe business and gets his Chevron products from this type of dealer.
