I put on a pro-comp 4" lift and 35" pro-comp tires, the lift kit was alot of work and took me about 8 hours. The tires were mounted on Eagle 16"x10" wheels and it looked unreal, my hood was 58" off the ground. This was a problem though as you could not see anything in front of you like a shopping cart, or small child. The worst of it was, (getting back to your question)was the ride which was hard, and I also had a vibration at about 65-70 mph.(drive shaft angle problem and tires too hard to balance) After several calls to pro-comp (who has poor service after the sale)(buyer beware) I took the whole kit out and sold the tires and rims and kit for a grand. I just put on 33x12.5x16.5 Good Year Wrangler HT tires and American Racing Outlaw II 9.34x16.5 rims. ( by the way put on the American racing center caps with the Ford logo there way cool also put them front and rear, otherwise you can see the auto locking front hubs that are not only ugly but never used anyway just leave them on auto)The tires are load range C with a highway tread and my truck rides like a dream.... They clear with about an inch in front and back, also I had previuosly simmed out my front bumper with washers to fit on the 35" tires so ir the front is close its a $2.00 fix in ten minutes. good luck, next I'm going for a complete banks power pack system for more power and gas mileage.

I just put in Rancho Shocks on my Excursion. It helped the ride tremendously.

I too put Rancho 9000's on my X. It is a positive addition. The mushy feel it had stock is gone and is more firm w/o being tough.

i heard about rancho's put on the newer offroads,,, my 99 offroad rear left shock is leaking. when they did the work on my osd light,, solonoid a gone,, dont mind my spelling,, they said the shock was leaking,,,,, they cleaned it up and said it does not need to be replaced. 300 miles later it was due for an oil change,, made it 7 miles over,, my best is 1,, the mechanic and me were looking at it and sure enough leaking like crazy, but u dont know it looking at it parked. im gonna have them replace both because i like even wear. its under warrenty and the service guy has some of my tomates from my garden, so he should not say no. ill get rancho's and see if they will throw them in under warrenty and because the missed it the first time. ill barter them with a fresh sack of potatoes.
