rockerarm spacer shims?

rockerarm spacer shims?

has anybody put a crane cam in their 460 and found those little spacer deals that come in 2 sizes. They go between the bottom of the rocker arm pedestal and the heads. If someone has used this cam Crane Powermax adv dur 266/274 dur @ .050 210/218 deg lobe sep 114 lift .487/.504 cam could u tell me which spacers i need to use please? ive never seen these as my 390 cam didnt come with these.

I have never used them. Why would somebody make a camshaft with a larger than stock base circle? Usually they are smaller when you get into larger cams and require adjustable valvetrain or longer pushrods.
I guess this is why I always use CompCams.

They are to adjust the lifter pre load when you don't have an adjustable valve train.The paper work that came with your cam should give you a desired preload.You use the shims if it iis to tight,some times you have to stack different thicknesses to get the right amount. If you run them to tight you'll wear the lobes off the cam.
