Here's a good way to avoid squeaking wipers. Wax the entire windscreen. Just like you would a painted surface. I have been doing it for years. If you are driving at speeds over 40mph or so, lots of times you don't need the wipers at all if it's raining at a good rate. The water just slides up off the window.

Rain-X and half the time with Rain-X I don't even have to turn on my windsheld wipers.

 

I like Rain-x also. I haven't tried the stuff that you can spray on wet yet. Rain-x is kind of a pain to apply.

 

I use the Rain-x that is mixable with ordinary windshield washer fluid. Builds on in about four washings.

For the wax lovers, I use the spray-on wax option at the local DIY carwash.

The Rain-x picks up when the wax starts losing its grip on the glass.

I use the original rainx too but find that if I clean my wiper baldes when I wash my car and then hit them with some armorall this keeps them a lil more pliable and less prone to squeaking.

 

Being able to drive in a downpour past semi's without your wipers is GREAT!!!

I've used Rain-X for quite some time now, and I love it!
Driving down the highway, don't need the wipers at all and driving in the city, just every now-and-then.

I swear that I'm a fanatic when it comes to wipers and fluid. I have found that the cheapest wiper blades sometimes work the best! I've even just changed the rubber blades and they worked great for a whole season (nothing lasts more than a year, no matter how much you pay for it). I believe that you get what you pay for but this dosen't apply to wipers. Expensive wipers don't work any better then the cheap ones and I'm talking about all my rides. My 2002 Ford Mondeo had crappy wipers from the dealer, $5.00 replacement wipers in the original arms and they were flawless!!

I also make my own wiper fluid, a cap full of Mr. Clean and water works great if your not in freezing climates.
