Starting Problem

Hoping someone can help. Have a 1997 F250 4.6 truck. Truck was running fine but once I shut it off, it wouldn't start. When I turn the key it just clicks. All lights are working fine. I have replaced pos and neg cables, battery, relay on firewall, solonoid on starter, still makes click, click noise and won't start. Only thing I haven't replaced so far is the starter. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi and welcome to FTE
It sounds like either a bad connection at the starter or the starter has died. There ia a built in solenoid on the starter too I believe. The firewall solenoid just sends power to the solenoid on the starter. If this wiring is all good, then I would suggest pulling the starter and have your local autoparts store check it.

Well you hit the nail on the head with that one Jimmy. Put a new starter on and she started right up. Things that make you go "DUH" once ya figure out it, it now seems obvious, but I can't believe it just went like that....Thanks again, this forum is awesome!!!!!
