Question Lariat Maxium Speed

Anyone got the maximum capable speed for the Lariat 5.4L?

And not what you have achieved on the downhill slops of Canada

A link to a site with other technical info on suspension and brakes for this model would also be useful.

Cheers.

I'd say 90. They probably have a speed limiter like the other 1/2-ton trucks Ford has been putting out (i.e., Ranger).

Not much help so far.

We carry out dynamic testing on these vehicles and have thusfar achieved 100mph with a 1ton weight in the back.

NASCAR trucks do 190 w/ 358 c.i. Call Robert Yates, he can help you go fast.

Seriously, I think it would depend on your rear gear, tire pressures, and trans (manual or auto). Why not get a Lightning if you want to go fast? It already has the suspension, brakes, and power. Or, go to the Ford Motorsport catalog and build a clone. My 2 cents.

I know it'll do 100mph!!! I just did it today....No downhill either!!! I was on 676N in New Jersey.I had to slow down for traffic so I didn't get to go any faster yet. I'll let you know what speed the electronics limit it to soon.

I have a 2004 F150 SCREW Lariat with 5.4L and 3.73 limited slip rear and auto tranny.

I'm with WXboy on this one - they probably have a speed limiter, though I'm not 100% sure. On my '02 the speed limiter is at 105mph, and then it cuts out some of the cylinders.

Its supposed be 97 mph which seems about right in my case. I was dyno'ing my truck and in third gear (for the 1:1 ratio) we hit the speed limiter before we hit the rev limiter. The computer showed 98 and 99 on two runs. We ended up using 2nd gear for the remaining runs.

105mph and this truck felt like I was going 55mph. Sad thing is I got my 90 Toyota V6 4x4 to 120mph. But it felt like 300mph!

Question Lariat Maxium Speed

I have owned (5) Ford trucks since 1990. I just took delivery on a 2004 FX4 SuperCrew, 5.4 L with 3.73 L/S. This truck is everything Ford said it would be. It is awesome! I haven't had a chance to pull my boat yet. The cabin is super quite and it has a super smooth transmission. As a veteran law enforcement officer with 23-years of service to the state of Indiana, I'm really curious why you want to know the top-end speed. This is a truck, not a sportscar. There are very few places to LEGALLY and SAFELY travel at those speeds, especially in a pickup truck. If your traveling those speeds in Indiana, or any other state, your going to receive a ticket and a costly fine. Slooow Dooown! Enjoy your ride. By the way what is the make, model, color and license plate number on your truck? LOL!!!! Just Kidding! Have a nice day sir......Drive safely!!!!!!!!!
