Is there a certain type of tach we have to get to work with our trucks, or can it work with any kind............

A tach is universal. You just hook up the power, ground, and battery or whatever and it comes on and works with your truck. My friend drives a 97 Acura Integra with a 4 banger. He hooked his tach up to his and drove it for a while. Then, he let me try it out on my truck. It worked just fine, but I had to give it back that same day! It's just a basic hook-up. I think the power wire goes to into your steering column, the ground is obvious, and then I think there is like 1 more wire for something else...I'm a bit rusty on it.

Actually, you can use the redneck version also.

It's one of those metal spinning wind direction chicken thing-a-ma-jigs you see on top of barns that spin and tell you what way and how fast the wind is blowing, and it's shaped like a chicken.

You can mount that on the hood of your truck and run a cable from the spinning thing to an electronic box that calculates wind speed vs. what gear your in and translates it to rpms.

The big metal iron chicken would looked stoked on the hood of your truck too!!!!

No no no... the chicken one is an old wivestale.... You have to upgrade to the Rooster. Then you run a cable from the rooster to a camera you mount in your wheel well. Then you have to paint a white line about 1 inch in diameter around the width of the tire. The camera films the white line and runs it to a computer that then puts it into an equation that includes wind speed, what gear you are in, and the amount of times the camera sees the white line. The only bad thing is the computer can only give you the rpm readout in binary code. You have to translate all the 1's and 0's yourself.

Its a good system. One of my friends has it on his go-ped.

What's a go-ped? You mean a mo-ped?

I used a Dodo Bird on my hood a little while back. Talk about results!

I would open one, but it would get deleted due to the rules. Plus, I'd rather be retard in every thread, that way I can spread it out ya know.

a go ped is one of those motorized scooters. They have a little pull start lawn mower engine on them. Top speed about 25 or 30 mph

Can you use a timing light instead of the camera on the white strip on the tire. I think that would be more acurate.

hmmmm,

I just sat here for 10 whole minutes trying to think of something really funny to say.

I came up with nothing.

I've lost the touch
