Angry F250/BRakes Rot/Caliper on Rotor Twice

Well..i never liked the brakes on my 2000 F250 since after 20K miles..I dont ride it hard, 35K a year on highway, etc..

about 8 months ago I started feeling something 'weird' in the brakes, and shortly after I heard a clunk when backing up and stopping.

THE PAD HAD POPPED OUT OF the CALIPER and the PISTON had ground the rotor down. The Rear brakes had never been replaced and were factory up to this point. Now I felt foolish for not noticing ( The other pad still in was about 75% still there) but didnt understand how that could happen. Replaced the rotor/pads and Caliper assembly.(Piston was ground down). Never heard warning squealers (diesel?)... my Brother and law and myself checked the other side/changed the pads and I was off..

Welllll I just started feeling something a little off on the brakes again, popped the rear tires off and would you believe that the inside pad on the passenger side was gone...Piston grinding on the rotor. Outside pad again had at least 75% left.

Obviously I need to replace the rotor and caliper assembly for this side now..but what the heck is going on.

[1] Has anyone ever seen this before
[2] is it such a crappy design the the inside pads wear out 4 times as fast as the outers, and therefore never get a chance to hit the squealers
[3] such a bad design that the pad jumps out of the caliper?

HOW Can I fix it...I called FORD the last time and got the same ole BS I always got from them...they are horrendous at responding to customer complaints/issues..I digital pictures back then and will do the same thing again.

thanks for any guidance...

I have 99 F250 4x4 and I noticed that will happen if your caliper slides are not working properly.

Clean the caliper slides regularly.

There should be no problem sliding them back and fourth, If there is replace the caliper slide.

As soon as the caliper slide seizes only one side of the caliper will brake that why one side wears out sooner...

Hope that helps

Just experienced similar problem on 2001 f-250 rear passenger brake system was metal on metal pads were nowhere to be found. When I removed the tire it looked as if the rim had rusted but it was brake fluid and metal or ground brake pads. had to replace rotor pads and calipers. Know two friends with 01'sand they have experienced same or similar problems both rear passenger brake.
