spark plug gap - one more time

My manual calls for a 0.30" plug gap (63 292). However, I seem to recall that for best power, you want the biggest gap your coil can handle (bigger spark, faster burn, etc.).

So, my feeble memory would hint that a better coil means I can run a larger gap.

Is this so, or am I just imagining???

Yes, however, if you get a misfire at higher
rpm, you gotta close it up a bit, until the misfire
goes away, it's the same with the timing, advance
it 'til it pings, then back off a few degrees...
