Suspension Problems 2wd Excursion
I HAVE A 2001 2WD EXCURSION WITH 29 K, THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALER IN FLORIDA AND NEW YORK WITH SUSPENSION PROBLEMS AND PULLING TO THE LEFT AND HAVE HAD 4 ALIGMENTS AND REPLACED THE TIRES WITH COOPER HT's
THE DEALERS HAVE REPLACED FRONT SPRINGS-FRONT AND REAR
SHOCKS-REAR LEAFS-TIE RODS-BALL JOINTS UPPER AND LOWER-
WHEEL BEARINGS-STEERING STABILIZER-STEERING SHOCK ABS.
THAN WE HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH A VIBRATION THE REAR SEATS SHAKE AND VIBRATE AS YOU DRIVE- THE DEALER REPLACE MY REAR AXLE DRIVE SHAFT AND HAD THIS BALANCED AS WELL-STILL HAVE VIBRATION. I DON'T USE THE TRUCK TO TOW.
ANY BODY HAVE ANY IDEAS?

Bumpy ride? I'm sorry Piperboy, but I didn't see anything in your original post about a bumpy ride ... just a lot of suspension & other parts being replaced. If you're talking about the rear end being real bouncy, especially when travelling across minor bumps, you may want to check out another topic on this forum ... and here's a link to it ...

BEARINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED- DRIVE SHAFT REPLACED AND BALANCED-TORQUE CONVERTER NEED TO BE CHECKED.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY WHEEL OUT OF ROUND?
THE BUMPY RIDE IS THE FOLLOWING YOU FEEL EVERY CRACK AND SMALL HOLE ON THE HIGHWAY, YOU CAN IMAGINE WHEN YOU HIT A MEDUIM TO LARGE HOLE SOUNDS AS IF THE SHOCKS WILL GO TROUGH THE BODY OF THE CAR. JUST FATIGUING RIDE ESPECIALLY ON A LONG DRIVE FROM NEW YORK TO FLORIDA

Piperboy,
Do you mean like when you run over an expansion joint in the road surface, and instead of just one bump and it's over, you feel a series of vibrations ... and it settles back down within a couple seconds? If so, that's the common ailment of the Mighty-X known as "spring wrap."
You mentioned travelling from NY to FL. If you're located near NYC (your hometown & state do not appear with your posts), you might want to contact "jefflana" who posted the other forum-string I told you about (link above). He installed the radius-rod kit on his X, and if logistics are reasonable, you two may be able to coordinate a meeting so you can feel how his drives.
If your ride quality problem is NOT as I described above, then "Monsta" made some good suggestions for additional items to check.
For the money FMC makes on each X, one would think the X would have one of the best designed suspensions in the world ... but alas, it's not much more than a station wagon on a truck chassis.
