I have slight residue of oil on the underside of my hood. It is right where the cab meets the hood on a 93 F-250. I am thinking it may be my Pcv valve. Would that cause any excess oil onthe block to create that residue? Which brings me to my next question, my filterbox only has one intake hole for the pcv valve and filter, I cannot find a Pcv valve that will totally flush up and fit the filter at this time. Suggestions?

 

Are you sure you have everything in the right place? On your truck, the pcv valve and the filter are in two different locations. The crankcase filter is located in the air filter box, which connects to a tube runnning to the oil filler neck; the pcv valve is located at the rear passengers-side of the engine (you can't really see it, but just feel around the back of the engine on that side with your hand, you'll find it). Make sure that the pcv valve is there and the hoses are hooked up properly; by the sounds of it, your pcv valve (or related hoses) could possibly be loose or missing, which may spray oil into the engine compartment...
