My friend has a 1990 4cyl,4WD, 5 speed and it makes a clanking/rattling when driving I can push the clutch in and it goes away. It just started doing it when WE(texas) got the cold front about 1 week ago.

This thread will get deleted if it doesnt say FORD or TECHNICAL or both, I will rename your friends "vehicle" to a Ford Explorer.
Your Friends "Explorer" sounds like its having problems with the throwout bearing, From what you described. These " Explorers" are generally a fairly tough and reliable vehicle, How many miles does your friends vehicle have on it? maybe time for a complete Clutch overhaul, just to be safe.

My friends "Explorer" has 196,000 clutch suposedly done 45000 miles ago.

Yes, I am Finally Learning. I think its just that after your on here a while, you tend to think of people as friends, and Value their input, Ford or not. Same with my post about an old Dodge and parts, I know its not ford related, BUT I value alot of the peoples opinions on here, and it really helped me out. Thanks for understanding.
