Question Truck Manual Adivce

Just bought a 99 Ranger 3.0 and am going to buy a manual for it. Does anybody have recommendations other than Haynes. I have a Haynes for some of my other vehicles and I find that it can leave a lot to be desired So does anybody use a different manual and why. I do not have a lot of knowledge or experience with mechanics. I have done brakes, oil changes, fuel filters, the basic routine stuff. I am excited about my first truck and cannot wait to start smoothing out its performance. Do they make Rangers for dummies

Thanks

Hi Hulk, welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts!

Many people who own Rangers use both the Haynes Manual and the Chiltons Manual together ...it seems both are good on some things, but neither one alone is good enough to cover everything.

Also, you can get Ford Factory Workshop Manuals from Helms, or you can find them for sale on eBay, as well.

And if you haven't already done so, take a look through the 3.0L V6 Technical Info & Tips Thread which contains even more resources to help maintain & repair your 3.0L Ranger.

Thanks Rockledge, I have actually been reading on this site for about a week and decided that it is definitely worth joining so I can soak up some of this Ranger knowledge. I like the wealth of info that this site has collected and I have read a lot of the Technical threads. Thanks for your input and I will probably get a Haynes to start and order a Helms manual. I will be posting a lot of questions as I get used to being a truck owner and get the guts to do more tinkering on my own.
