'93 302 coolant leak
I've got a very slight coolant leak into what looks to be the intake of the front #5 cylinder. I think its the #5 cylinder, because its spark plug has a shiny new appearance, versus the more normal soot color of the other cylinders' spark plugs. The exhaust also has a very slight "sweet" smell, and the oil dipstick has the telltale white mixture.
So, I am now wondering if there is a coolant passageway in the intake manifold near this cylinder? Also, the leak is very minimal, with hardly any noticeable coolant loss, or build up of coolant in the oil. Is there any risk in continuing to run the engine in this condition?
Thanks,
Chris

Clobber:
It sounds like you have a blown head gasket you need to do a pressure test on your radiator. Also to find exatly where the leak is you could perform a cylinder leak down test. I like to do this before I tare an engine down so I know exactly where the problem is and what kind of shape the valves are in. (This way you know if you need a valve job or not.)You might be able to stop the leak with some aluimaseal as a temporarily fix. You will need to change the oil and keap an eye on it. Most likely though your going to have to repace the head gaskets.
Good luck.
