Thermostat on a 460

When I first got my truck listed in my sig, it ran real hot so I replaced the thermostat. The one I took out didn't have a temp listed on it but I put a 160 back in. During the summer time or warm times it runs fine, warms up about 1/4 way up on the gage. Now its cold the gage barely goes past "C" and the heater is mid-warm, not enough for me. Is it easier to replace the thermostat again with a higher temp or just block the radiator off for the winter.

get a thermostat that set at 180 degrees and you will have your heater back and your engine will last longer.
