On my 90 F150 w/5.0L, the spout connector is near the distributor, in the bundle of wires that goes to it. It's basically a pair of wires with a receptacle (sp?) that looks like it just has a spacer filling the end. That spacer is actually a small jumper that breaks the circuit that abvances the timing. The 5.8 also has 10 deg. btdc with the connector undone. Connected, it jumped to about 16-18 deg. btdc, advancing more with engine speed, of course, to about 30 deg. btdc.
Hope this helps!

Gino ,
There is no need to cut into the wires ...the Spout connector is 2 single wires about 6in long , next to the distributor with a Grey Cap ...this cap is the part you remove to check the timing . Spout stands for Spark Out , all this little grey connector does is stop the computer from adjusting the timing so you can check that the base timing is correct . Once it is unplugged , check and adjust the timing if needed . Be certain you reinstall the cap after you are done otherwise the timing will not advance when needed .
