hey can someone please tell me which of the big block fords is the best and out of what truck do i plug it outta. i want something that i will slowly rod up.
i need the motor to replace my 351w 5.8L .

I have a 1977 F-150 with a 460 that was rebuilt before I got it but it sat a long time. Since I bought it I have replaced the transmission, starter, alternator, distributor, spark plug cables, ignition coil, battery put on mew tires, a chrom grill and basically redid the entire interior. The paint isnt to bad but the bed is rusted pretty bad. What do you guys think the selling price for it would be if I decided to part ways with it?

The 460 will not just drop in. But it will be what your looking for, it sounds like.

What year is your truck?

Is your truck a 2 wheel drive?

If so, you could find a donor truck with the 460 and the drivetrain you need and swap them over.

 

mine is 1991 f-150 v8 351 2wd e4od EFI. do you have any idea which truck would be a perfect donor truck. and i would love to keep efi and stuff.

 

I would think an 88 and up 3/4 ton, two wheel drive with the EFI 460 will take you all the way.

You will need to remove its engine frame mounts and everything else. Transmission included.

You might also want to look at Land L products. They have a good selection of adapter and converdion kits. I don't have their link but any search engine will bring them up. It's just an idea.
