door chime

anyone know how to disable the door "chime" on the new f-150 when the key is in the ignition and the driver's door is open, when cleaning the old buggy, etc, it won't stop ringing no matter where the key is in the ignition. in my gmc if you backed the key out just one "notch" it would stop without having to take the keys all the way out and leaving them somewhere else.(no, it's not a concern locking the keys in when you have a keyless entry system) lariat 4x2 s-cab.

thanks, bill

The easiest way I found is to pull the ignition lock out and disconnect the wire that senses the key.

I wound up getting a Ford mechanic to do it for $10 cash while I had some other work done. I just siddled up to him and asked. It took him all of three minutes; but he knows what he's doing with my (then) new truck- not me.
