high milage preventive maintenance
My 94 has about 130K miles on it. Besides the stuff that I've had to fix along the way, what things should I be doing at this milage to prolong the reliability?
Does the timing belt or chain need replacement? What about rocker arm tighting, axle/bearing repacking etc...?

Really maintence is the most important thing to do. Replacing fluids, filters, hoses, greases will prolong. Highway mileage is the best kind of mileage. Stuff will last a bit longer than city stop and go driving. I would recommend replacing the upper and lower radiator hoses, a complete flush, might as well replace the thermostat, get a fuel injector cleaned and clean the throttle bore. The spark plug wires should be in good shape. As well as the cap and rotor.

One thing that is really great about newer engines, is the belts will last a long time. In fact, I haven't ever replaced on on either of my 2 pickups. I have a 93 F-150 with 86k and a 89 with 148k.

The idea is to repack the bearings ever 30k or 3 years.
