Yes you need a C Notch - honest!
For the rear there's Three things: The C Notch, relocated spring hangers and relocated shackle hangers (I have no idea why they are called spring hangers for the front of the rear spring, and shackles for the rear-ask a spring shop). Good luck. What are you doing for the front?

Shackle clearance w/bed
I can't speak for all 67-72s but 'lowering shackles' wouldn't do any good on my '72 without cutting big holes in the bed floor. I guess that is an option but personally, I wouldn't want the obstruction in the bed clear at the back like that. There is only about 1/2" between the rear eye of the rear springs and one of the bed crossmembers as it sits (stock to my knowledge and not lowered). I guess you could just cut part of the CM support out to gain an inch or so but that would be it.
Also, keep in mind that lowering shackles are typically only going to affect the rear of the rear spring and will not affect the front of the rear spring. Thus, you will be changing the geometry of your rear suspension - primarily pinion angle.......
You can adjust for that by moving the front spring hanger (of the rear leafs) and this has been discussed - with pictures- on another recent thread here.
