Steering columb

I need to replace my steering columb on a 76 f-100.. What years and makes do i have to choose from?..is there any thing i should know before this swap?..I'm also replacing my my front dash..The medal part..does any one know if 73 to 79 where all the same?

Any column out of a 73-79 should be a direct bolt in. The wiring might be different. The dash I know for sure is the same for 73-79. Good Luck!

Keep in mind that power steering and non power use a different column, and I think 2wd and 4x4 use different columns too.

So if you have power steering, you would need a 73-79 donor with power steering, auto, 2wd.

78-79 have nutral switches on the tranny, not the colum ( auto tranny) so they won't work in the earlier trucks.
