Unhappy 95 fried Alternator

Put 2 used alternators on my 95 pickup and this is a new one that has just fried. took it back to Autozone and they said it was fried not like you can smell it , but it won't charge any more. any ideas. the used one lasted about 3 or 4 months and the new one just a little longer.

i had a simlar problem with my 92 f-150. make sure you have good connections because a lose connection will cause a lot of heat... i never caught the problem with my truck so i traded it in after two wiring harnesses caught on fire.

good luck,
Nate

The pre 95 have a habit of catching on fire. Get a good unit and find out whats burning it out.
