Saw a 2004 F-150 today...

I drove one last week.
Dealer's lots are filling up fast with them. My impressions:
1. To my taste, the exterior is an ENORMOUS IMPROVEMENT over prior F150's!!!
2. The interior is going to take some getting used to. It's sort of a "Captain Kirk redecorates the starship Enterprise in a 1930's art deco theme." A little confusing between it's nostalgia, old-timey theme and it's space-age materials/look?!?!?
3. VERY nice riding; smooth, quiet, comfortable.
I've seen a bunch on the streets around town in the past couple of weeks so they're obviously selling well, which isn't a surprise. But I'm glad I bought my '04 F350 instead!
I'm sure F150's will sell like gangbusters though,
Steve

For an alternate opinion I don't care for them, the exterior stylin and interior styling do nothing for me. I said the 97 body style wasn't the best when it first came out and I ended up getting one but that will not happen this time as again the 04 does nothing for me. The 3 valve head does interest me though. Thought I would give an alternate opinion, later

I'm quite happy that Ford still ranks as No.1 on the truck market place, but you'd never see me driving one after the '73-'79 body style. I like the trucks that look like trucks and not styled like a car with a bed. In my opinion, lol. It's the advancements in the drivetrain that have kept my interest in the newer models. Broke my heart though, in '96 ('97?) when they stopped making the 460. Think I may just go and take a new F-350 for a test drive though, do that with all the new models. Maybe when I'm older and don't care so much about being a Beast Driver, I'll buy a new one

I'm almost there! I love the new F150's, and it might be time to trade-in the old 92. I have not had any desire to buy the 97 to 2003 because of the boring aerodynanic style. I saw the new trucks at Bill Marsh Ford today and was impressed immediately. 6 yrs is a long time to wait when the body-style is stuck in idle. If the darn thing had a side vent window I would be showing the neighbors my new truck right now. I'll ask Ford if they can work it in as an option. I never worried about the power plant or tranny, I always bought cars and trucks for the styling.
