I drove one last week.

Dealer's lots are filling up fast with them. My impressions:

1. To my taste, the exterior is an ENORMOUS IMPROVEMENT over prior F150's!!!

2. The interior is going to take some getting used to. It's sort of a "Captain Kirk redecorates the starship Enterprise in a 1930's art deco theme." A little confusing between it's nostalgia, old-timey theme and it's space-age materials/look?!?!?

3. VERY nice riding; smooth, quiet, comfortable.

I've seen a bunch on the streets around town in the past couple of weeks so they're obviously selling well, which isn't a surprise. But I'm glad I bought my '04 F350 instead!

I'm sure F150's will sell like gangbusters though,

Steve

Funny i thought the same thing! It's definitely different and IMO the whole truck will take some getting used to.

For an alternate opinion I don't care for them, the exterior stylin and interior styling do nothing for me. I said the 97 body style wasn't the best when it first came out and I ended up getting one but that will not happen this time as again the 04 does nothing for me. The 3 valve head does interest me though. Thought I would give an alternate opinion, later

I'm quite happy that Ford still ranks as No.1 on the truck market place, but you'd never see me driving one after the '73-'79 body style. I like the trucks that look like trucks and not styled like a car with a bed. In my opinion, lol. It's the advancements in the drivetrain that have kept my interest in the newer models. Broke my heart though, in '96 ('97?) when they stopped making the 460. Think I may just go and take a new F-350 for a test drive though, do that with all the new models. Maybe when I'm older and don't care so much about being a Beast Driver, I'll buy a new one

i have to agree, ive seen one of the new f150s a few weeks ago on my way home from school, in my rearview mirror. i really dont like them but thats just my opinion, i prefer off roading and driving a new truck offroad doesnt feel right, like itll break too easily. the new ones definitely look like city trucks. everyones entitled to their own opinion though so for the people who do like the new ones..thats cool with me

But its a *capable* city truck. Well, Im not sure about the 97-03 trucks, but even a base model with a 4.9 was a heck of a work horse.

They're too pretty for me, I could care less about how quiet my ride is, hell I don't want a quiet truck. I also have to agree, the interior is a little too fancy/starship like for a truck.

I don't see anyone with these new F150s using them as trucks.

I am quite happy with my 79, but I would trade it in a split second (sorry guys I couldn't say heartbeat) for any new truck. I don't use mine like a truck to begin with and I could use the gas mileage of a yota.

I'm almost there! I love the new F150's, and it might be time to trade-in the old 92. I have not had any desire to buy the 97 to 2003 because of the boring aerodynanic style. I saw the new trucks at Bill Marsh Ford today and was impressed immediately. 6 yrs is a long time to wait when the body-style is stuck in idle. If the darn thing had a side vent window I would be showing the neighbors my new truck right now. I'll ask Ford if they can work it in as an option. I never worried about the power plant or tranny, I always bought cars and trucks for the styling.

I wanted the new model, but my dealer still had new '03's and he made me a deal I couldn't refuse. Now have an '03 Supercab in Arizona Biege...nice! I'll be happy for awhile!
